God often proves He’s a good Father by blessing in a way that only a father who truly knows his child can.
A few days after my last post, a pastor (one of our supporters and a good friend) asked me to visit him. He and his church were using Ironwood’s new dry camp facility (the Wilderness of Ziph). He didn’t tell me why. He just said we should stop by.
So, Atticus and I hopped in our jeep and set out for the Wilderness of Ziph. We got there and the pastor who had invited us rolled up on a nifty little XR80 dirt bike. Before I could say anything, he stepped off the dirt bike and told me that he and his sons wanted to give the XR80 to my family.
I couldn’t believe it. Atticus couldn’t believe it. My wife wouldn’t believe it!
We were thrilled!

Now here’s the crazy part. I’ve never ridden a dirt bike before. I’ve never asked for a dirt bike. I never thought I would own a dirt bike. So, when he gave us this dirt bike, I thought it would just be for Atticus and Odyssey to enjoy when they were older
I was wrong.
After a few laps around the desert, I discovered…I love dirt bikes! Even better, my wife learned she, also, loves dirt bikes. The cherry on top—Atticus and Odyssey love riding it too (don’t worry, mom…not by themselves).
Through a pastor’s generosity and an unexpected gift, God provided a blessing I didn’t even know my family would want or enjoy.
My heavenly Father knows how to bless and sometimes those blessings roll up on 2 wheels.
If you thought that was cool…you’re going to love this next part. Not only did God provide a completely unnecessary blessing, but He also answered a necessary request I put in my last post.
I mentioned last time, that we needed to raise $1,150 more a month.
Guess what…go on guess.
Did you guess?
If you guessed that God answered our prayers and brought another supporter along…you would be wrong. Because He brought along not one…not two…but three new supporters!
Yes. We still have more support to raise, but God continues to prove himself faithful and provide what we need for each month.
He continues to bless more than we deserve and better than we could imagine.
He continues to answer prayers!
Which reminds me of our theme for summer camp (which is in full swing. In fact, as I write this, I can hear juniors trying to complete our low ropes course).
I could try to explain our summer theme here…but I write worse than I talk…so, instead, here’s a message I preached for our church a few months ago that explains what we will be teaching campers all summer…message starts at 43:50
