My goal is to post an update every six weeks. It’s been about 10 weeks.
I’m late.
So, get ready. A lot happened in the past 10 weeks.
Are you ready? Are you sure? If not, feel free to step away from this post anytime. Come back when you are mentally, physically, and emotionally prepared.
OK. Enough waiting around.
Here’s 20 things that happened in the past 10 weeks:
1. We painted our cabinets. They were red. They are now green. If you want to know why, you will have to ask us (If you look closely at the pictures below you’ll see a very intense Atticus helping as best as he can. He managed to unscrew a few hinges and paint a few cabinets. He loved it!)

2. We celebrated Christmas. Surprised? I didn’t think so.
3. We made a YouTube video. And by we I mean me, Ember, and Dad.
4. I installed 27 new WAPs around camp. (They look like little white frisbees and they spread WiFi everywhere).
5. Ember completed Camp Assurance’s 990 (a super exciting tax document that takes forever to fill out…that’s as much as I understand).
6. I deployed new computer management software with Scott Grubb’s help (I could talk about how cool this software is for hours…so if your ever bored and have a few extra hours to spare ask me about Datto).
7. Ember completed a workers comp audit for Camp Assurance.
8. I deployed new antivirus software…your excitement is palpable.
9. Ember and Marilee took the Youth Group to Youth Winter Rendezvous.

10. I worked on more WiFi pole infrastructure…not by choice…a storm forced me to fix a few things and make a few improvements.
11. Ember helped, learned, and experienced Ironwood’s budget process from start to finish.
12. Atticus and Odyssey played outside.

13. I made short video for Ironwood.
14. Dad, Atticus, and I built another fort out of old camp bunk beds, railroad ties, and an old window.

15. Ember restructured Camp Assurance’s payroll and chart of accounts (You don’t look as impressed as you should be. This took her awhile and required some fancy footwork in Microsoft Excel).
16. She completed 1099s for Camp Assurance (another exciting tax document that I don’t understand, but am impressed that she figured out).
17. I got my HAM Radio Tech. License (Now, before you make fun of me for being a nerd who is hopelessly behind the times let me explain. The Mojave Desert has quite a few HAM radio operators and GMRS radio operators. Getting my license opens up a number of unique opportunities to build relationships in the our community.)

18. Ember set up donor data tracking for Camp Assurance.
19. I had the privilege of preaching three times at our church.
20. Lastly, Ember gathered ERC paperwork (Again. I don’t understand the stuff she works on. ERC might be short for “Entropy Research Chart” or maybe “Effectively Reworked Choreography.” Who knows. Your guess is as good as mine.) This is Ember editing, it’s Employment Retention Credit, but those other options sound much more fun 😉
WHEW!
If you need to take a nap after reading that list, I don’t blame you. I think I might need to do the same.
It’s been a crazy 10 weeks. Fun to look back at all that was accomplished and realize that we couldn’t have done any of it without God’s help. So many things went smoother than we anticipated. So many things turned out better than we planned. We can point to multiple situations both at work, church, and home where God clearly helped us just simply be productive.
God is good.
Thanks for reading!
