Super Secret Project!

I’m sitting in my backyard by a campfire Atticus and I just built. It’s 8:36 p.m. The sun just disappeared. The moon is…gibbous? (I think that’s right. Hang on. Let me check. Yep. Waxing Gibbous to be exact.)

I tried taking a picture of the moon to show you…it didn’t turn out like I hoped :/

Atticus is whispering something to me from his cot in our homemade Teepee. I think he needs to go to the bathroom. Hang on. Yep. Bathroom.

Done. Now we can get started.

I’ve been hinting at a super secret video project in the last few posts. Well. It’s done! I have been itching to share it with you so here it goes. It’s a multi-media inductive Bible study for young people written by Pastor Bryan Miller from TriCity Baptist Ministries. I’m not sure I know how to explain it. If a devotional book for kids that teaches inductive Bible study at their level using both a book and companion videos interests you then check out the links below:

In other news, the final WiFi tower is finished! It took three years, but it’s finally done. Does that mean our internet is super fast now? Unfortunately…no. But, it does mean its far more stable and much easier to find and fix problems.

Noah is a senior at Ironwood Christian Academy. He has been interning with me this year. Here you see us in our natural habitat: 50 ft. in the air, servicing a WiFi Tower.

With the both of those projects finished, I can now focus on summer camp planning. With summer staff arriving in 2 weeks I have a lot to get done. There are games to be planned, stages to be built, a new BB gun range to build, missionary stories to be prepared, schedules to be written, and so much more. It can be overwhelming to try to get it all done in time, but exciting to see what God will do.

One moment. I need to add wood to the fire.

Okay. Where was I. Oh yeah! News.

In other other news, Camp Assurance (a camp in Illinois) joined Ironwood’s Family of Camps. Ember flew out there (with Odyssey) and started working through all of their files as she is now their bookkeeper. This did not seem like a big deal on paper, but it has proven to be quite the transition for her. Lots of new things to learn and intimidating deadlines to meet, but God has given her the grace to tackle it head on.

One more bit of news, before you leave (I can’t confirm that you were going to leave, but I hadn’t attempted anything humorous for at least four sentences so I assumed some of you were getting bored).

Atticus and Odyssey are doing great! Atticus’ vocabulary has expanded exponentially (I’m not sure I’m using that word right, but it alliterates and sounds smart so I’m leaving it). He and I have been working on building forts in our backyard. This really isn’t that significant and I’m sure you don’t care that much, but look at these forts!

(I can’t help it. These turned out way better than I expected and I had to show you.)

On a much more important note, Odyssey is sleeping through the night!…sometimes.

Big deal? Ember and I think so.

Finally, a massive thank you to those who have financially supported us. I can’t overstate how encouraging it is to read through the names of those of you who support us each month. your generosity is humbling, helpful, and motivating.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

  1. Enjoyed and appreciated the update! Brianna and I are watching some of the videos. Great forts; especially the one with the roof. Excited you finished the last dreaded cell tower. Praying for grace and wisdom as you prepare for camp.

    1. “Dreaded” is the correct word! Glad it’s done. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. I’m looking forward to seeing your sons this weekend at Tabletopia!
