Camp Works Because God Works

I don’t have a lot of time.

Just 25 minutes to be exact.

So, let’s stop wasting time. I’m going to start writing. You start scrolling.

One of my favorite things about camp is that it works. More specifically, that God uses camp to accomplish his purposes and so…it works.

At our Women’s Retreat, a camper believed in Jesus! She grew up Catholic. Started going to a Christian church. Was invited to Ironwood. Talked with her Pastor’s wife and chose to repent of her sins and believe in Jesus. God used the faithfulness of a local church and the unique tool of camp to change a life.

Camp works because God works.

There have been many stories of the spiritual impact of camp. Lord willing, there will be many stories to come.

Which reminds me. The first week of camp is only 5 weeks away! Summer Staff training is only 4 weeks away!

Could you pray for us as we prepare to reach young people for the Lord?

There are so many details that go into a summer of camp. Games have to be built. Schedules have to be made. Summer Staff have to be trained. Activities have to be prepared. Stages have to be decorated. Music has to be practiced. And so much more.

On top of all that summer preparation, Ironwood still has custom camps and retreats happening through half of May. It’s a whirlwind of activity here at Ironwood and we can’t do it without God’s grace.

Could you pray for us?

I only have 4 minutes left!

I only have one more thing to tell you. Growing Fathers just launched a podcast!

    1. Thank you for your kind words! It’s encouraging to know what God is doing here can be encouraging to others.

Ember and I (and the kids…who provide more entertainment then help) will be working on the Broken I Ranch stage as well as final preparations for training week. We usually move our break week to after summer. It’s more relaxing that way and gives me a week before summer where nothing is happening around camp (less computers breaking) so I can focus on just Junior camp.
