Dear Friends and Family,
A lot can change quickly. In 2019, Ember and I joined the Ironwood Ministry Bound
program, which is a two year, after college program for people wanting to go into camping
ministry. We planned on completing the program with hopes of joining the resident staff team. However, God had a different plan. After only a couple months at Ironwood, positions opened and we were able to join the resident staff team in February of this year! It was fast, unexpected, and has been quite the learning curve. Our job areas as resident staff are:
- IT – Maintaining and improving the network and computers (we have a total of 76 computers and 163 network devices on property so this job keeps me busy!)
- Share Team – A new promotions team that produces videos and deals with the social media side of camp (if you haven’t already, check out Ironwood’s YouTube Channel – Ironwood Camp – YouTube)

- Junior Camp Director – Manage counselors and program schedule for our 4-7th grade campers during summer
- Hacienda Facility – This is an area of camp dedicated towards helping pastors rest and grow closer to God. Ember is the team leader and works with the upkeep of the facility and the program/activities for the guests.

On top of all of that, we moved into a new house, remodeled the kitchen, and welcomed Atticus Brock into the world on September 18, 2020! (Ember’s sister came out and took tons of fantastic pictures of him, but I will resist the urge to include more than one picture.) We have loved being a part of Ironwood’s ministry this past year and are eager to continue serving God by ministering to churches here at camp. Ironwood’s mission statement states that Ironwood is a home mission’s ministry using the unique aspects of the camping ministry to reach young people for the Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen families, and serve local churches; it is a place of decision in the areas of salvation, full surrender, and consistent Christian walk. We are very excited to make this our mission as well.

While our jobs at camp will not change too much, how we make a living has changed a
lot. Ironwood is a home mission ministry, meaning all of its resident staff are missionaries
supported by churches and individuals around America. This allows Ironwood to invest all its finances into serving local churches in the West. This, also, means Ember and I need to raise support. A task which seems daunting to say the least. Amazingly, God has already provided 37% of the monthly support we need. However, we still have a way to go if we want to continue serving churches here at Ironwood.
The best way you can help is by praying. God has blessed Ironwood with full camps
during the Fall season despite COVID. This means we are working at full tilt to keep up with the campers coming through. The only way we make it through each week is through God’s help. If you are interested in helping us financially you can do so through Ironwood’s website: http://www.ironwoodcamp.org/bodie-ember-brock/. Alternatively, you can send a check to Ironwood (just put our names in the memo line)
Praises
- Ember and Atticus are healthy
- Able to serve campers this summer despite COVID
- A house to raise our family in and serve others with
- God’s continual provision of finances for projects at camp such as our new studio set and WiFi towers (four 50 foot poles that will become the core of our network

Prayer Requests:
- Ironwood can recover from a year of only being able to have about 50% of our usual campers (so far, God keeps getting us through each month through unexpected gifts we refer to as Ravens. Check this video out to find out more about the way God has provided: https://youtu.be/lFwmfWVvhkg)
- Atticus continues to grow and stay healthy
- Continual progress on the house (we have a long list of projects we want to do).
- Wisdom as we work on reconstructing Ironwood’s wireless network (Thankfully, God has provided an IT consultant without whom I could not do my job.)
For God’s Glory,
Bodie & Ember Brock
